Christmas at Merewood is everything you ever wanted Christmas to be; its the Christmas you thought was extinct.
Spend your Christmas at Merewood and the house will be a home from home where you can let go and enjoy Christmas as it should be enjoyed.
Merewood is always special, but at Christmas it comes into its own - the grand hall and every room resplendent with trees and garlands and every fire blazing.
It goes without saying that the food and wine are perfect and the delivery of mince pies or afternoon tea perfectly timed.
If you are lucky, there will be snow on the fells and you will be able to appease your conscience with a walk up Wansfell after lunch. A full programme of events, games and entertainments is always provided but you can easily escape from it if you prefer.
Father Christmas has, in previous years, always called in to deliver presents on Christmas day and may well do again.
FRIDAY 24th DECEMBER 2010 - CHRISTMAS

Gather by the log fire and enjoy scrumptious homemade scones and
local preserves accompanied by a perfect cup of tea.

Start the evening off with our special mulled wine and canapés.

Time to retire for the night, hang up the stockings and await the

SATURDAY 25th DECEMBER 2010 - CHRISTMAS DAY

A chance to relax, and open your presents at a leisurely pace.

Gather in the bar for champagne in preparation for the grand feast
that will follow.

Time to pull the crackers, don your party hats and indulge in turkey
with all the trimmings.

THE QUEEN’S
SPEECH
A chance to sit in front of the TV to hear her Majesty’s annual
address to the nation, or to doze off and have an afternoon nap.

BUFFET DINNER
Help yourself to as much as you can manage from our chef’s
buffet (if you can find some room after lunch).

HOUSE GAMES
Relax after dinner with our brain teasers quiz, or why not challenge
your fellow guests and be king of the board at a game of Monopoly
or Scrabble.

Start the day with elegance and style, and enjoy the full breakfast
with all the trimmings.

A WALK ACROSS THE
LAKELAND FELLS
For those feeling energetic, there will be an un-organised walk in
the Lakeland scenery. Alternatively visit the shops in the town
or simply relax.

A WELCOME BITE TO
EAT
After your fell walking adventure, or filling your shopping bags,
return to the hotel for a light lunch.
7.30pm
CANDLE-LIT DINNER
Enjoy your last night, and unwind over a delicious candle-lit 4-course
dinner.

MONDAY 27th DECEMBER 2010

BREAKFAST
A hearty start to your day, in preparation for your voyage home.
11.00am
Time to bid farewell to each other, and hope to meet again soon.
The total cost for the whole Christmas package for 2010 is: £550.00 PER PERSON
